UT Energy Storage Facility Win Awards

Architecture + Plus is proud to announce that the Thermal Energy Storage Facility for UT Austin has won both local and state-wide construction awards. This 80,000 gallon chilled water storage tank will reduce energy costs for the UT Austin campus by generating chilled water at night while eletricity rates are low and circulating the chilled water during the daytime while cooling demand is high. Architecture + Plus was the local architectural consultant for Affilliated Engineering Inc. of Houston.
The project has won the following awards:
- Austin Association of General Contractors Best in Construction 2010
- Texas Association of General Contractors Best in Construction 2010
Architecture + Plus Working on Plans for Zilker Hillside Theatre

Architecture + Plus is assisting the Zilker Hillside Theatre group with an expansion of the open-air theatre venue near Barton Springs Pool. The expansion will provide more comfortable dressing areas, staging areas and storage.
The plans have been presented to the Parks Board and fundraising is ongoing. The Zilker Hillside Theatre has provided open-air performances every summer since 1980.

Advocates for Architecture Day

Architecture + Plus principal Betty Trent and AIA members present Rep. Donna Howard a framed view of the Texas State Capitol dome construction. This limited edition print was a token of appreciation for discussions held with the District 48 representative regarding architectural issues during Advocates for Architecture Day.
